BRODERICK STREET

SAN FRANCISCO CA

SCW’s interior renovation of this Victorian home in San Francisco was inspired by the clients desire to have an updated modern space within the historic shell. The minimal design opens up the once dark center of the home and reveals the understated grandeur of the Victorian building proportions.

SCW contrasted details and materials to create a layered experience that feels immediately comfortable. A warm oak floor contrasts clean white walls. Cabinet faces are rendered in a modernized panel style and bathroom floors and walls are clad in concrete tiles that create rich geometric patterns.

As with the material palette, the furnishings and art work together to create a home that is unique to the young family. Furniture was selected from different periods and styles and art from new and established artists. A curated wall of cabinetry between the Living and Dining Room displays the families library and photos creating a welcoming threshold.
